- Forbes Library
- Forbes Library accepts donations of new and almost-new books, audio books, and DVD’s in excellent, clean condition to be considered for addition into the collection or for the ongoing book sale. Read more about donating books to Forbes Library.
- Northampton DPW Transfer Station – 125 Locust St.
- City-of-Northampton residents with an appropriate vehicle sticker may take books to the three containers outside the Transfer Station.
- Northampton High School
- Hardcover book donations in nice condition are accepted at the high school library that are age appropriate and in line with the curriculum. No media or periodicals, please. Contact librarian Gail Terranova at gterranova@northampton-k12.us

- Part of the Cutchins Programs, New Directions School is a Chapter 766-approved private school providing special-education services to 30 NCFF residential and day students. They are especially in need of children’s picture books. Contact Education Coordinator Justin Smith, at 413-584-1310 x327.
- Reader to Reader
- This Amherst-based organization takes your books and sends them to under-resourced school and public libraries that are in need.
- Franklin County Jail, Greenfield
- The Franklin County Jail accepts media, periodicals and books in nice condition. Paperback books only, with an emphasis on literature and vocational training. Contact Dr. Reza Namin, Director of Education Programs, 413-774-4014 x2108.
