The Ad Club of Western Massachusetts
The Ad Club of Western Massachusetts offers a merit based scholarship awarded to one or more deserving students from western Massachusetts intent upon carving out a career in the advertising, communications, marketing, or graphic arts industries.
Big Y Scholarship Programs
Big Y Foods offers scholarships for undergraduate, graduate, community college and non-traditional education. All Big Y customers and their dependents in the Big Y Market Area and Big Y employees and their dependents, regardless of residence, are eligible. Special categories are available for law enforcement officers, firefighters, and military personnel.
Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts
Among its many charitable activities, the Community Foundation also gives scholarships. Their website has the application and information on the program.
Cooley Dickinson Scholarships for those pursuing a career in nursing:
  • The Nursing Alumni Scholarship is awarded each year to a senior attending either Northampton High School or Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School who is pursuing a career in nursing.
  • The Edward S. Moss Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to a current Cooley Dickinson employee who is either currently accepted or currently enrolled full time in an accredited school of nursing, working to complete an associate’s degree, a three-year diploma, a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree in nursing.
  • The Therese Connor Nursing Education Fund provides financial assistance is available on an annual basis to registered nurses at Cooley Dickinson.
  • The Louise Finn Nursing Scholarship Fund is awarded to a child of a current Cooley Dickinson Health Care employee who is pursuing a career in nursing and is either currently accepted at or currently enrolled in a local, accredited school of nursing, working to complete an associate’s degree, a three-year diploma, a bachelor’s degree, or a master’s degree in nursing.
Eastern States Exhibition (Big E)
The Big E has a number of scholarships for Western Massachusetts students who participated in the Eastern States Exposition youth programs.
Freedom Credit Union: Cooperative Credit Union Association/Pioneer Valley Chapter scholarship
Any graduating high school senior who will be enrolled in an undergraduate college degree program for the 2020-2021 academic year is eligible to apply for a Cooperative Credit Union Association/Pioneer Valley Chapter scholarship. Applicants or a parent/guardian must be a Freedom Credit Union member.
The Horace Smith Fund
For graduates of Hampden County secondary schools. Scholarships are available for new undergraduates, continuing undergraduates, and graduate students.
The Massachusetts Broadcasters Association Student Broadcaster Scholarship Program
Assistance for full time students who are permanent residents of Massachusetts attending vocational schools, 2- or 4-year colleges or universities offering degrees in radio and television broadcasting.
Massachusetts Medical Society Scholarships
In addition to a large number of scholarships for MMS members, the Massachusetts Medical Society also offers the Hampshire District Medical Society and the Rollin M. Johnson, M.D. Student Grants Program which assists Full-time student in medical school who live or have lived in Western Massachusetts for at least five consecutive years.
Pioneer Valley Federal Credit Union
College scholarships for Pioneer Valley FCU members and their children.
Pioneer Valley Women’s Running Club
The Pioneer Valley Women’s Running Club offers a scholarship for high school seniors planning to attend college or university who have participated in track or cross country.
The Polish Junior League of Massachusetts
  • The Helen Weber Scholarship is awarded to majors in Media, Communication, Library Science, or Journalism.  Applicants must be of Polish heritage, have a permanent address in Western Massachusetts, and must be enrolled in the sophomore year or higher in a two- or four-year credited college or University.
  • Undergraduates scholarships awarded to students of Polish heritage in their second year or higher of an accredited college, university or diploma nursing school. Students must have a permanent address in Western Massachusetts and have never before received a scholarship from the Polish Junior League of Massachusetts. Selection is based upon financial need and academic achievement.
  • The Josephine Karwoski Memorial Scholarship awarded to a woman of Polish heritage with a permanent address in Western Massachusetts. The recipient must be currently enrolled or accepted to a graduate degree program OR be enrolled as a non-traditional undergraduate student at an accredited institution. Selection is based upon financial need and academic achievement.
Theta Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity
  • The Clifford Flint Award for Academic Achievement is intended to recognize African American and Hispanic males from Western Massachusetts who are college bound high school seniors who have achieved superior academic ratings in high school.
  • The Marvin P. Lyon, Jr. Award for Leadership and Community Service recognizes African American and Hispanic males who have a strong record of leadership and community service in their high school or local community. Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in Western Massachusetts and plan to enroll in a 4 year college or university.
  • The Frank Buntin Award for Civic Engagement and Social Justice recognizes African American and Hispanic males who are active in their community while promoting social justice and equality through collective community action, community awareness campaigns, and community engagement. Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in Western Massachusetts and plan to enroll into a 4 year college or university.
