Click on My Account or go to the Library Catalog and click the “Log into My Account” link in the upper left corner of the screen.
Enter your library card barcode number and password. If this is the first time you’ve accessed your account, your password is likely your last name, all in capital letters, or the last four digits of your telephone number. If you forget your password you may click on “Forgot your password?” and you will be sent an email to reset it. We can also reset your password at the circulation and reference desks. Because of privacy concerns, we are not able to edit your password over the phone or via email.
When your record appears, a link on the top of the screen shows how many items you have checked out. Click this link or the Items “Checked Out” tab to see the items. (Note, the list shows items from all C/W MARS libraries, not just Forbes.)
You can then click in the box beside each item and click “Renew Selected Titles” or select the box at the top.
The “Status” column will now display the new due dates. It will also indicate if any items can’t be renewed, and the reason.
Reasons for not renewing a title include:
- The item has already been renewed once
- The item has a hold for another patron
- There is a block because more than $10 is owed in fines or there is some other problem that needs to be resolved
- The item is overdue and has fines (you can still call to renew these items so that you don’t continue to accrue more fines)
