The Trustees of Forbes Library bestowed their highest honor on library volunteers Anne Keppler and David Bloomberg. The public ceremony and reception took place on Saturday, June 21 at 2:00PM in the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Museum at Forbes Library, 20 West Street, Northampton. Music was provided by Northampton Community Music School a cappella groups.

Each year the Trustees of Forbes Library present their Trustees Award to a member or members of the community who have made significant contributions to the library by donating his or her time, expertise, and creativity.

This year's Trustees Award recipients were Anne Keppler and David Bloomberg. Ms. Keppler is a recently retired Friends of Forbes Library Board member and a long-time volunteer at the library, working every week helping the Circulation Department with clerical tasks. Lisa Downing, Assistant Director at Forbes, says, "It is such a delight to see Anne coming in on Tuesday mornings. She is such a reliable volunteer and always asks if there is anything else that needs to be done before she leaves. We are so thankful for all she does and the pleasant, competent, and good-humored way she does it."

Mr. Bloomberg served on the Forbes Library Board of Trustees from 2004 until 2008. His legal expertise as well as his good nature and enthusiasm were great assets to the library's governing body. "David always seemed to understand complex issues and articulate clearly the options and outcomes to help the board make the best decisions for the library. We could depend on David to be supportive and reasonable, no matter what the situation," said Library Director, Janet Moulding.

The Trustees Award was presented to Ms. Keppler and Mr. Bloomberg at a public ceremony and reception held in the Coolidge Museum at Forbes Library Saturday, June 21st at 2:00PM, with many friends attending. The mixed voice a cappella group, 1 2 Many, and the men's a cappella group, The Dreamboats, both from the Northampton Community Music Center performed at the reception.
