Description
This mug celebrates library pioneer Charles Ammi Cutter, author of Rules For a Dictionary Catalog, Forbes Library’s first librarian, and the inventor of the Expansive Classification.
One side of the mug features a cartoon of a friendly Charles Ammi Cutter while the other shows a diagram of a call number from Cutter’s famous Expansive Classification, the system that would form the basis of the Library of Congress Classification.
