Starting May 26, construction will begin on the side entrance into the Children’s and Young Adult Department in order to bring in large HVAC equipment. We anticipate that this entrance will be periodically closed for short periods at a time.
This construction is the last part of the HVAC work that is being funded in part by the city’s Capital Improvement Program. This work is replacing equipment at the end of its useful life as well as transitioning the heating from steam to hot water, which will make the system more efficient.
During the week of June 1, there will be a day when we will need to close the Children’s and Young Adult Department. We will make an announcement once that date has been determined.
