Calvin Coolidge, 30th president of the United States, was born in Plymouth Notch, Vermont, on July 4, 1872. After graduating from Amherst College, he began a career in law and politics in Northampton, Massachusetts, eventually becoming Governor of Massachusetts, Vice President and President. After leaving the White House in 1929, he returned to Northampton where he lived for the rest of his life. March 4 is Coolidge Giving Day!

In honor of the 100th anniversary of President Coolidge’s administration (1923-1929), we are fundraising to renovate the Coolidge Museum! Thanks to generous support from individuals and a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Cultural Facilities Fund we hired an exhibit design firm to re-imagine the Coolidge Museum with new exhibits, improved archival storage, and upgraded program space. Plans are now online!
