In 2023 as part of a grant-funded Access To Art project, we invited local artists whose work is in our collection to record brief talks about their art and process. You can listen to them on this page, below each image.

You can also access detailed audio image description in English and Spanish. The catalog record for each art work can be seen by clicking on the image.

This project was supported by grant funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services as administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

Lights from cars and streetlamps illuminate a damp road surface, crosswalk, railroad overpass, and storefronts at night. There is a red stoplight at either end of the image, with a streetlamp glowing yellow above each one. There are two additional streetlamps glowing white, as well a yellow, diamond-shaped sign on either side of the street. The sky is dark blue, and several cars can be seen coming and going on the street.

Purple and red flowers in a vase sit on a window ledge. Various abstract cutouts of the image have been moved around the painting, causing abstraction and duplication. The colors are mostly cool and dark, except for a red flower and light coming in from the window.

A joyful elephant walks along a dirt and grass road in a pastoral scene of trees, rocks, hills, and foliage. A mouse runs ahead of it, and a school bus follows at some distance.
