You may have noticed the new sculpture and landscaping in front of the library. Athena, goddess of wisdom, and her owl companion have taken up residence in our front garden.

The sculpture was created by artist Brian McQuillan, commissioned and donated to Forbes by Eileen Travis in memory of her husband Tom Ruane. Eileen also designed the garden, which was planted this week by a crew of volunteers. We are grateful to Brian and Eileen, as well as Ben Snape (the hardscaping specialist) for this beautiful new addition to our library grounds.

Stay tuned for an official unveiling event in June!
