Brother’s Keeper Poetry Theater Ensemble: A Voice for Change blends elements of poetry, spoken word, theatre and music to create a unique performance which is not only entertaining and educational, but also soulful. They are the special featured literary artists for Poetry and Pie: an evening of literal arts and sweets, a collaboration between Bombyx Center for Arts and Equity, the Florence Pie Bar, and local artist and public arts programmer Rachel Cyrene Blackman.

Very special guests to start the evening of poetry will be the three young finalists from this year’s Academy Regional Youth Poetry Slam as selected on April 5. The youth slam is hosted by noted spoken word poet Imani Wallace, who also uses the stage name Lyrical Faith.

This event is presented by Bombyx, the Florence Pie Bar, and Rachel Cyrene Blackman, and supported by Forbes Library and a number of local organizations.

The Toe Jam Puppet Band offers a special brand of hands-on children's entertainment that grown-ups can enjoy. The performances are very active, encouraging kids and parents to sing and dance along with the band as they entertain with a unique combination of original songs, masterful shadow puppetry, storytelling and just plain old good fun.
