Forbes Library’s Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library and Museum Standing Committee is in search of a recording secretary (part time paid position)

The Board of Trustees of Forbes Library, although governed by the will of benefactor Charles Forbes, has chosen to follow Massachusetts Open Meeting Law. As a committee of the Board of Trustees, the Coolidge Standing Committee also follows Open Meeting Law.

Duties

  • Attend all regular monthly and special CCPLM Standing Committee meetings (approx 8-10 per year), held in person and on zoom meetings, and record: time, place, and attendees; votes taken including text of the motion, who made and seconded, and result of the vote; brief summaries of discussions
  • Prepare a draft of minutes within 2 weeks to be reviewed and approved by the Committee at their next meeting
  • Make corrections and prepare final minutes after approval by Committee
  • Send approved finalized minutes to Archivist

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to type quickly and capture essential points during meetings
  • Good command of English language, grammar, & spelling
  • Experience with Google Documents preferred
  • Access to laptop computer, internet, and email

Appointment

  • By the Board of Trustees, at the annual organizational meeting (October), on an annual basis
  • The Secretary cannot be a voting member

Salary

$50 per meeting

Meeting Times

Meetings are the 1st Monday of the month (except Sept is 2nd Mon) at 4PM and in 2022 the 8 standard meetings are Feb 7, March 3, April 4, May 8, June 6, September 12, Oct 3, Nov. 7. Meetings typically run between 60-90 minutes.
