Forbes Library Young Poets Award

THE FORBES LIBRARY YOUNG POETS AWARD

Submissions will open on May 1st, 2019.

Any Western Massachusetts resident entering grades 9-12 in the fall is eligible to submit.
Submissions may be emailed to kjaneczek@forbeslibrary.org or delivered in person to the Forbes Library Young Adult department desk (basement level).
Submit by email: Send a PDF of one or two poems without any identifying information. In the body of the email write your full name, the town you live in, an email address, a phone number, and the grade you are entering in the fall of 2019.
Submit in person: Bring a hard copy of one or two poems and a separate cover sheet with your full name, the town you live in, an email address, a phone number, and the grade you are entering in the fall of 2019. Do not put your name on the poems themselves!
Each poem may not exceed 500 words or two pages in length.
Be sure to keep a copy of your poem; poems will not be returned.
Entries will be accepted from Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 until 5:00 pm Friday, August 1, 2019.
The winner and three finalists will be notified in early August and invited to read at Forbes with Boston Poet Laureate Porsha Olayiwola on Saturday, August 17th.
